ATT Mobility bargaining update

CWA / AT&T 2026 “Orange” Contract Bargaining

March 26, 2026 – Bargaining Report #18

The Orange Bargaining Committee continues negotiations with AT&T. The company has decided that bargaining reports with half-truths and omitted information is the way they want to release updates, so we will help fill in the blanks and clear up any confusion.

First, the company released proposed wage increases. They state that the cumulative effect of these increases would average an additional $22,200 in wages over the life of the agreement. What the company fails to include are the increases they have proposed throughout their medical benefits package would eliminate the wage increases that they are offering. As an example, for those who are currently in an Option 1 plan, the company proposal would mean you pay out of pocket for prescription drugs every year until reaching the proposed deductible, which is high. AT&T believes you should pay more for medical and that money will come directly out of your raises. AT&T also believes their managers deserve 10 more weeks of paid parental leave than their Unionized employees that they say that they value so highly.

The Company also says they want to get to a fair agreement that recognizes your roll in delivering outstanding customer service. What they don’t say is that they have no interest in addressing call volumes, decreased compensation and incentives, or their expectation that you do more for less. The company won’t address chargebacks, bilingual pay for retail or cost of living increases in this uncertain economy.

AT&T CEO John Stankey made at least $30 million in compensation in 2025 alone, but you should be happy with $22,200 over four years. AT&T is delusional and they lie. They don’t value your work, if they did, we would still not be at the bargaining table. We need you to stay mobilized and informed. We are here to get a fair contract; it’s time AT&T started to live up to their own words.

Stay mobilized! Stay angry!

March 13, 2026 – Bargaining Report #16

The Union Bargaining Committee continues to meet with the Company. Unfortunately, there is very little to report this week, although there have been some positive developments. We have received more of the information we need to pass informed proposals. We are going to continue to push the issues that are important to you.  Mobilization has been crucial to continued movement at the table. Please stay in touch with your mobilizers, and keep the pressure on AT&T.

Stay mobilized! Stay angry!

CWA / AT&T 2026 “Orange” Contract Bargaining

March 6, 2026 – Bargaining Report #15

The Union Bargaining Committee continues to meet with the Company. While there has been progress, the Company is not taking our main concerns seriously. Your bargaining team has worked very hard to put together proposals that would address your needs and make progress at the table. The Company continues to reject these proposals almost as quickly as we pass them. This multi-billion-dollar Corporation still believes you should settle for scraps. AT&T’s vision is to diminish sales incentives, create work schedules that make work-family balance worse, increase responsibility across job titles and pocket the profits themselves. This is corporate greed at its worst.

We are still far apart and it’s frustrating, but we are here to bargain. The parties have agreed to another two-week extension. All terms and provisions of the Labor Agreement remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Friday, March 20, 2026. We will continue to fight for a fair and equitable contract we can all be proud of.

Stay mobilized! Stay angry!

March 3, 2026 – Bargaining Report #14

The Union Bargaining Committee continues to meet with the Company. As we reported last week, there has been movement in a positive direction but it’s minimal and moving at a snail’s pace. Your surveys told us what was important to you, and we continue to let AT&T know that we are not leaving the table without addressing your issues. We will remain at the table and continue to fight as long as it takes.

We know this process can be frustrating and feel like it’s dragging on but it’s important to stay mobilized and informed. The company definitely feels your solidarity through mobilization and that gives a lot of leverage at the table. Keep up the fight!

CWA / AT&T 2026 “Orange” Contract Bargaining

February 27, 2026 – Bargaining Report #13

Constructive conversations were held on various issues this week, and we can report that we had more good discussions with the Company than we have had since the inception of bargaining. While we are still far apart on important items, your mobilization efforts seem to be resonating with the Company and brought them to the table to bargain. It’s the pressure from you that forces movement at the table.

The contract remains in place until 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, Friday, March 6th. Your bargaining team will continue to meet with AT&T bargainers to be sure your voices are heard.

Stay mobilized!

CWA / AT&T 2026 “Orange” Contract Bargaining

February 23, 2026 – Bargaining Report #12

The Orange Bargaining Committee was surprised to see the fake news in AT&T’s last bargaining report. Apparently, AT&T thinks refusing to bargain at the table and putting their cheap, insulting proposals in reports will get us to a deal! Your elected bargainers from Districts 1, 2-13, 4, 7, and 9 have put forth your demands, and although we have emphasized the items that are important to you, they remain unaddressed. Tell your boss you demand better treatment.

The Committee remains committed to getting what the workers who built this network, and who service AT&T’s customers, and who sell AT&T's products need – fair compensation that they can count on, affordable benefits, and improved quality of work life. With your continued mobilization efforts, we can prevail.

Since facts are facts, and no one is entitled to their own set of facts, here is the real offer from AT&T to get you and your family through the next four years:

  • The raises on the table are not going to “significantly outpace projected inflation through the life of the contract” when adjusted for healthcare increases, and AT&T is refusing to add the Cost-of-Living increases (COLA), which is simply protection in case of economic downturn.
  • While they did propose a daily couple-dollar increase for multi-lingual Call Center employees, they refuse to acknowledge the value of Retail employees who are multi-lingual and think the one-bump wage-step increase you got when hired should be good for your whole career with them. Are multi-lingual RSCs not valued and appreciated enough to get this additional compensation?
  • For techs, they did propose an increase in call-out pay, this part is true, but they refuse to offer extra pay for the extra work you do when towing assets. You have told us that non-bargained supervisors have gotten extra pay when they tow assets. Aren’t you worth that, too?
  • Interestingly, whoever wrote AT&T's bargaining report included that raises in this contract will not be paid retroactively. This has not previously been the case with the Orange Agreement, and we expect the CBA to be retroactive once ratified. Instead of telling this to the Committee, AT&T is telling it to you the employee to frighten you and pressure your bargainers to settle for less than you deserve.
  • The new healthcare options have increased premiums, and the Health Savings Account that would be available with the high-deductible option is only a match if you put equal money into it out of your paycheck. It’s not an “up to $1,000” situation, but a fixed amount. An individual would need to contribute $250 per quarter, and a family would need to contribute $500 per quarter; otherwise, you would not receive the match. AT&T made a lot of money in wireless from your work. Shouldn’t they contribute to your HSA?
  • The well-being incentive they put in the report is “at their discretion,” unlike items in a Union contract, which remain in effect for the life of the Agreement. Without commitment, what is the value?
  • There are no improvements to job security on the table yet, which is concerning.
  • For RSCs, we know it’s hard to read between the lines of company bulls**t about what is on the table for you. Their report states: “For Retail Sales Consultants, clearer language about their scope of responsibilities to set clear expectations, to improve their overall experience and support a healthy work-life balance.” Well, that’s a lot of words. They refuse to make sales policy changes that would help you keep what you earn. Chargebacks continue to be an issue.
  • For Work From Home, their report brags about offering a 10% increase in the stipend. They saved on operating brick-and-mortar offices, and now your introductory internet pricing is over. We think you want more than just another $5.00 per month. You were clear when you told us the cost of letting AT&T use a room in your home has gone up.
  • For those trying to pay for higher education, we want to clear up their statement on tuition. The company removed the cap but did not offer to increase the tuition reimbursement amount.
  • The company report ended with “at a time when few companies offer a pension, we offer employees opportunities to save with both a pension and a 401(k) plan.” We take this as the company telling all of us that we are lucky they aren’t coming after our pensions and savings plans, because no improvements were offered.

We hope this has helped clear up any confusion caused by the cloudy report issued by AT&T on Friday. Our new expiration date is Friday, March 6, and we will continue to push for your fair share of the money you make for this company, as well as respect and security on the job. We are stronger together when we are engaged and informed!

CWA / AT&T 2026 “Orange” Contract Bargaining

February 20, 2026 – Bargaining Report #11

The Orange Bargaining Committee and AT&T have been meeting continuously during this past week’s extension, yet we have not been able to reach a deal. Both parties have agreed to a two-week contract extension to continue bargaining. There are many important items which you have told us must be addressed that AT&T continues to ignore. The contract remains in place until 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, Friday, March 6th.

Your bargaining team remains committed to addressing those issues that you have deemed a priority.  Look for mobilization updates from your Local and stay engaged and informed!

CWA / AT&T 2026 “Orange” Contract Bargaining

February 18, 2026 – Bargaining Report #10

The Orange Bargaining Committee and AT&T continue bargaining under the contract extension. Unfortunately, the Company thinks that raises that barely outpace inflation are good enough for you. They have offered no significant improvements in working conditions, scheduling, commissions or a host of other issues. The Company’s latest bargaining report touts enhancements to work-life balance, but this is just not true. While your Bargaining Committee continues to make proposals for better work-life balance, the Company continues to reject those proposals and has offered no relief. In many sessions, most of our proposals go completely unanswered and ignored. The company is still proposing a benefits package that has aspects that many of our members could not afford.

AT&T is posting bargaining reports that paint a very rosy picture of their proposals. Don’t believe the lies, they are refusing to address many of the issues you demanded in your surveys. As we have said since bargaining started, we will fight as long as it takes to get a fair and equitable contract from this greedy, billion-dollar company. It is more important than ever to be engaged. Stay in touch with your local mobilizers and continue fighting.

CWA / AT&T 2026 “Orange” Contract Bargaining

February 6, 2026 – Bargaining Report #8

The Union bargaining committee continued talks with AT&T over the last several days. AT&T continues to make proposals that do not address the needs of our members. The Company also continues to reject the proposals that are most important. The bargaining committee is still waiting on several information requests to be filled as well.

We are working on issues related to scheduling, First Net, commissions and quality of life issues. The company has yet to show any interest in any real improvements. We will continue to fight for the changes that you demanded in the bargaining surveys.

The contract expiration date is rapidly approaching, so we hope AT&T gets serious about doing the right thing by their employees. The company knows you are mobilized and standing behind us, keep it up!

CWA / AT&T 2026 “Orange” Contract Bargaining

January 30, 2026 – Bargaining Report #7

As bargaining continues, it is clear that AT&T does not value your work. The company continues to deny Union proposals intended to increase compensation and help their employees keep up with rising costs. In addition to rejecting our proposals, the company continues to try to shift the cost of medical benefits to you.

The Union is also fighting for the company to take greater steps to provide security for their employees. As we see in Minneapolis, the world can be a dangerous place right now and we expect the company to have a plan to keep you safe. While the company does have some safety procedures in place, we are fighting to make sure it’s clear and comprehensive.

Your bargaining team will continue negotiating as long as it takes to get a fair and equitable contract for you! Please stay in touch with your local mobilizers and stay in the fight with us.

CWA / AT&T 2026 “Orange” Contract Bargaining

January 21, 2026 – Bargaining Report #4

Bargaining with AT&T continued over the last couple of days. Your bargaining committee met with the Company and discussed many issues across several titles. Scheduling for call centers, retail, work from home and IHX issues were discussed at length. We expressed the importance of fair scheduling so people can plan their lives and spend time with their families. We also discussed the diminished headcount at the retail locations and the stress it creates.

The bargaining committee also spent a lot of time discussing First Net deployment for the wireless technicians. The bargaining team expressed the need for training equipment and fair dispatching.

The Union has filed numerous information requests that the company is still working on fulfilling. We will continue to press them for all necessary information so we can make the most effective proposals possible.

Once again, we appreciate your support!
